GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES: PODIUM FINISHES FOR ALL TRUE RACING ENTRIES

The fifth race weekend of the Fanatec GT2 European Series in Valencia presented plenty of challenges for True Racing by Reiter Engineering. But thanks to strong performances from all driver pairings, there was lots to celebrate too. The second race of the weekend saw Stefan Rosina and Filip Sladecka take home an overall victory, and there were two further podiums in the AM classification as well.

Rosina and Sladecka celebrated their fourth victory of the season, wrapping up the win in the closing stages of the race. “We pushed hard during the final laps,” said Sladecka after the race. “Stefan put in a great first stint and set things up perfectly. I was able to pick up where he left off and close the gap to the leaders.”

For the pair of Slovakian drivers, race two was all about damage-limitation after a contact-related drive-through penalty dashed any hopes of a top finish in race one. Stefan Rosina, who travelled to Valencia as the championship-leader, was forced to surrender first place in the Pro-Am title battle as a result of the weekend’s travails. After five of six race weekends, Rosina trails the championship-leader by just five points, with teammate Sladecka in third position.

Hubert Trunkenpolz and Klaus Angerhofer also played a major part in True Racing by Reiter Engineering’s weekend ending on a high. The drivers of the #17 KTM X-BOW GT2 had to retire from race one after being hit by another car. In race two, however, the pair put together a flawless performance and were able to finish in second position. They shared the podium with teammates Kris Rosenberger and Sehdi Sarmini, who finished third in the AM classification.

The season finale of the Fanatec GT2 European Series takes place on 15 and 16 October at Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France. For True Racing by Reiter Engineering, all eyes will be on rounding off the season with a good finish in the overall classification.
