AARON PLESSINGER WINS FIRST 450SX MAIN EVENT OF 2025 IN RAIN-SOAKED FOXBOROUGH

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Aaron Plessinger has captured an emphatic first 450SX Main Event victory of season 2025 at Round 12 of the AMA Supercross Championship in Foxborough, overcoming treacherous conditions to clinch a well-earned, popular win inside Gillette Stadium.

Equipped with the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Plessinger made the most of his mud riding skills by sealing the third-fastest time in the afternoon's sole 450SX qualifying session.

Continuing his momentum into the Heat Race, ‘The Cowboy’ would claim a convincing second-place finish following a measured performance, setting him up well for the upcoming Main Event as the conditions intensified.

Getting off to a fast start in the shortened Main Event, Plessinger patiently powered his way to the front of the field during the race's early stages, before stretching out to a 25-second lead across the nine-lap encounter, claiming what was a heroic first race win of the season.

Aaron Plessinger: “I was nervous [in the lead up]! In a mud race, you never really know what’s going to happen – you can be as confident as you can be, but when that gate drops, you never really know. We pushed to the front as soon as we got out of the first turn clean in the Main, managed to keep it on two wheels and tried to cruise it on in, but it wasn’t an easy cruise by any means. It was tough, but I had a lot of fun! I'm stoked for the team, who never stopped believing in me even when things were tough at the beginning of the season. I can't thank them enough for that.”

Following what was his fourth podium result in the past five races, Plessinger currently sits seventh and continues to make ground in the 2025 championship standings.

450SX teammate Chase Sexton piloted his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to the second-fastest qualifying time inside Gillette Stadium, seizing his window to post a lap time in track conditions that were worsening by the lap.

The rain continued to fall as he lined up for his Heat Race, with the number 4 proceeding to put on a clinic of patience and balance, crossing the finish line stripe in first place by over 30 seconds. He was later penalized by two positions for jumping on a red cross section of the track.

In the Main Event, Sexton endured a mid-field start before climbing his way toward podium contention throughout the middle stages of the race. An untimely fall, however, in a difficult position on the circuit saw Sexton surrender a podium finish and was instead able to salvage a sixth-place result in a challenging night of racing.

Chase Sexton: "The round started off well for me. P2 in qualifying, then won my Heat Race, but got docked those positions. That led to a bad gate pick in the Main and a terrible start, but overall, not a great Main Event. I fought as hard as I could and we’ll get ready for next weekend to rebound stronger.”

The 250SX East Class returned to action in Foxborough, with defending champion Tom Vialle recommencing his pursuit for a second-consecutive crown. Onboard the KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Vialle took his Heat Race victory to open the night program.

Once the gates dropped on the Main Event, Vialle was running strong inside the top-five before a series of incidents in the closing stages of the race significantly hampered his final result, eventually credited 22nd position. Despite his troubles, the Frenchman maintains the Eastern Division red plate.

Tom Vialle: "We finished up in Foxborough and it was a really rainy day here. I managed to win my Heat Race, and then the track was really challenging for the Main Event. I had a bad start and came back to fifth, and then had a crash with two laps to go, which kept us from finishing the race. I’m now tied with Seth [Hammaker] in the championship and it’ll be a good fight with four rounds to go until the end.”

JORGE PRADO CLAIMS P4 RESULT WITH RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING IN ST. LOUIS

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado claimed a well-earned fourth-place result at Round 12 of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship in St. Louis, on a night where 450SX teammate Eli Tomac finished sixth to remain firmly in title contention with the red plate. The St. Jude Love Moto Stop Cancer race headlined the 12th Round of the SMX World Championship in Missouri, where the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team ran special one-off graphics in support of the cause. Equipped with the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Prado posted the fifth-fastest combined qualifying time inside The Dome at America’s Center – highlighted by P1 in the opening session – with the four-time world champion then powering to fourth in his Heat Race. Completing the opening lap of the Main Event in second position, the 25-year-old would then make a pass for the race lead before settling back into P2 after a heated exchange at the front of the field. Battling for the podium on a deteriorating circuit, Prado eventually took an impressive P4 finish, which marks his third top-five score of the 2026 season. Jorge Prado: “St. Louis was a very good day for me and I saw a lot of improvements. Qualifying was really good to be P5 overall entering the night show, and then I had a solid Heat Race, also. We didn't have the best start, but my flow was good, and I felt fast at the end. I was able to brake late off the start in the Main Event as I lined up a little more outside, which helped me a lot, and we were P2 out of the first corner. It was a hectic couple of laps from there with a lot of passes – I even got in the lead at one stage – and it was nice to be up there and showing my wheel. I lost some rhythm when we hit lapped riders and the track went away a lot – the sections I was doing in the first 10 minutes were completely different from what I was doing in the last 10 minutes, which was gnarly. We finished P4 and I think we can be very happy with that as a team." Two-time 450SX champion Tomac entered the 12th round with the series leader's red plate, qualifying seventh aboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION before recording a P5 finish in his Heat Race, and a direct entry to the night’s Main Event. The 33-year-old completed the opening lap of the Main Event in the top-five and maintained a consistent pace throughout, ultimately crossing the finish line in P6 and scoring an important haul of points. Tonight's result keeps Tomac on top of the standings, now the joint red plate-holder with five rounds remaining in Supercross. Eli Tomac: “It was a tougher day for us at St. Louis, but the good thing is that we didn't lose too many points and we are still tied for the lead. BIRMINGHAM SUPERCROSS PODIUM KEEPS ELI TOMAC IN 450SX TITLE CONTENTION

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Eli Tomac delivered an eighth podium of the year at Round 10 of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship, racing to a P3 result in Birmingham to firmly keep himself in 450SX title contention. Tomac was on pace from the outset at Protective Stadium as the series resumed following a single weekend off, with the number 3 posting a 50.962s lap to qualify fastest for the fifth time this year onboard his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. The 33-year-old then featured up front in the early stages of Heat 2 before an incident forced him into the night’s Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), where the double 450SX Champion took victory to secure his transfer into the Main Event. From there, Tomac ran inside the top-three throughout the premier class Main Event after a strong start, ultimately taking home a third-place finish to maintain P2 in the 450SX standings. He now sits nine points outside of the red plate as the series heads to Detroit’s Ford Field next weekend. Eli Tomac: “I just wasn’t as good tonight as the front two, so that’s about it. Of course, the LCQ was very stressful and a high-pressure moment, but I got myself out there to a good start from the inside gate, and I just got beat tonight. I was a little bit off and it was one of those nights that was tough, so we’ll try to regroup for next weekend and see if we can get back up front.” Four-time world champion Jorge Prado powered his KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION to the seventh-fastest qualifying time after overcoming a big crash during the afternoon sessions, before earning a convincing P2 result in 450SX Heat 2. The Spaniard then launched to the holeshot in the Main Event and ran with the leaders during the early stages in second position. Maintaining a steady pace throughout, Prado ultimately recorded a P7 result, continuing to build momentum as the season progresses. He is now ninth in the 450SX standings with seven rounds to contest. Jorge Prado: “I wrapped up Birmingham with P7. The round started with a big crash in practice, which I think affected the rest of my day. Obviously, the confidence goes down, and you start thinking about things a little more. Luckily, I walked away from that in one piece – I did hit my stomach very bad – but not bad enough to not be racing. P2 in the Heat Race was solid, and then I holeshotted the Main Event and got passed in the second corner. I stayed in P2 for a couple laps, but was missing a bit of my flow tonight, so it was a bit of a struggle. We battled for P5 most of the race, but all-in-all, it was just an okay ride. Not terrible, just medium, and I’m happy to be healthy with another week of training ahead.” Also equipped with the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Aaron Plessinger set the ninth-fastest time in 450SX qualifying, before the Ohio native displayed front-running speed in the second Heat Race of the round, claiming P3 directly behind teammate Prado. The 30-year-old then launched to a top-five start in the 450SX Main Event, holding fourth position early on behind Prado and Tomac. He then settled into eighth place for the majority of the race, only to endure a late-race mishap, which saw him credited with 21st place. Aaron Plessinger: “I was planning on Birmingham being a good day. Practice went decent and the track was wild – dry and wet at the same time, if you can imagine that! It was just a wild track altogether, but I qualified ninth and then had a really good Heat Race in battling with Jorge and felt good. I got a good start in the Main Event, rode a little tight at first, and then started to loosen up as the race went on. Then I hit a rock on the face of a jump, and I felt the rear-end start to rise, which is when I knew I wasn’t going to make the triple. I tried to ditch the bike, but it was too late, and the bars hit my knees. After that it was a bit of a blur – I think I did a flip or two and, when I landed, I heard something really crunch so that was the end of my night. I went to the Medical Unit, they checked me out, and I am in one piece, but I am just sore and bummed out.
