RAZOON – MORE THAN RACING HEAD TO THE GULF WITH KTM X-BOW GTX AND TOP-CLASS LINE-UPS

Kuwait, Dubai and Abu Dhabi: in the GT racing world, all eyes turn to the Arab peninsular for the winter. razoon – more than racing is one of the teams competing in the Middle East Trophy, which is part of the 24H Series. Dominik Olbert’s team have a strong driver line-up in its KTM X-BOW GTX, which it will be entering in the three endurance races. The first round is the 12 Hours of Kuwait on 2 December.

“We’re really looking forward to this challenge,” says Dominik Olbert. The team principal and his crew have been very busy preparing for the series and are not leaving anything to chance. “Machinery, organisation and logistics – everything has to work perfectly. We can’t wait to get going in a few days’ time with the first of three races. We are particularly proud of the driver line-ups we have put together.”

The razoon squad have local star Haytham Qarajouli on board for the first race. The 18-year-old from Kuwait, recently crowned Ligier European Champion, is one of the country’s brightest hopes in motorsport and is keen to show what he can do at his home race. “I am extremely proud to be racing at my home circuit here in Kuwait, at the first Creventic endurance event and to be able to share the experience with my family and friends all here to support the team,” says Haytham Qarajouli.

At the 24H Series’ debut at the state-of-the-art Kuwait Motor Town facility, Qarajouli will be expertly supported by his experienced teammates, including Dominik Olbert and Daniel Drexel, behind the wheel of the KTM X-BOW GTX. Salzburg-born Drexel has been a firm fixture at razoon – more than racing and has raced multiple KTM models in Europe in 2022.

Drexel is also the man with 24H Series experience. The Austrian made his debut in a 24-hour race in Dubai at the beginning of the year. When he travels to Dubai for the second time, from 13 to 15 January 2023, he will be racing with four teammates from Austria: Leo Pichler, Bob Bau, Ernst Kirchmayr and Kris Rosenberger. “That was always my idea,” explains Olbert. “Competing in Dubai with an Austrian car, an Austrian team and five Austrian drivers – a dream!”

The final round of the Middle East Trophy, which is being held for the first time, is a six-hour race at the spectacular Yas Marina Circuit. In Abu Dhabi, teams and drivers will have one final chance to fight for points and trophies. “We know that a lot can happen in three endurance races,” says Olbert. “Everything is in place and we have a great team for this project. Our thanks go to KTM and our sponsors Milwaukee and Brebeck Composite for their support and helping us make this happen.”
