STRONG PERFORMANCE IN THE QUALIFYING RACE: KTM X-BOW GTX & GT4 IN THE TOP-30 AT NÜRBURGRING!

  • Once again, two KTM X-BOWs were able to finish in the top-30 within the GT3 vehicles
  • The "AUTO MOTOR und SPORT" team takes the Cup victory & 27th place overall
  • The KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO from Teichmann Racing is sensationally in 28th place

The last testing opportunity before the season's highlight on the Nordschleife, the traditional 24-hour race, was not used by all KTM X-BOW teams or vehicles, but a total of two KTM X-BOW GTX (from AUTO MOTOR and SPORT as well as True Racing) and three KTM X-BOW GT4 (from Teichmann Racing) were on the Nürburgring on Saturday and Sunday. In the free practice sessions, one or the other set-up variant was tried out, and there was a lot of work for the mechanics due to the accident of car number 75, yet they were able to quickly make the "AUTO MOTOR und SPORT" vehicle ready to race again. Apart from that, practice and qualifying went well for the KTM teams and the best-placed KTM X-BOW GTX with Johannes Stuck, Ferdinand Stuck & Reinhard Kofler finished just outside the top 30, in 33rd place to be precise, while the sister car took 36th place on the grid.

On Sunday, the race got underway at 12:00 noon in perfect weather conditions and lasted six hours. Starting driver Reinhard Kofler put in a furious opening stint, on the first lap he was able to fight with numerous GT3 cars and when the first pit stop series began, the Upper Austrian was even in third place overall for a while. But in the second third of the race - Ferdi Stuck was at the wheel - the KTM X-BOW GTX was unfortunately stopped by electronics problems. After the team feared that the gearbox could be damaged, the car was parked as a precaution. This was particularly unfortunate as a top 25 finish was within reach. The "AUTO MOTOR und SPORT" team stepped into the breach: Christian Menzel, Jens Dralle, Markus Oestreich and Tim Schrick drove a faultless race and finished in a great 27th place overall. Christian Menzel: "The KTM X-BOW GTX is great fun and runs like clockwork. Today it didn't always feel perfect, but it was still fast. We're super happy and really looking forward to the 24-hour race!"

The Teichmann Racing team was no less pleased: the KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO of the Adenau team finished directly behind the KTM X-BOW GTX, and with 28th place Georg Griesemann, Maik Rönnefarth and Yvey Volte even broke into the phalanx of GT3 vehicles at the end! The crew of the Permit-B KTM X-BOW GT4 from Teichman Racing celebrated a great 38th place overall, with Felix von der Laden, Tim Sandtler, Tamino Bergmeier and Florian Janits clearly preparing themselves for higher tasks. Last but not least, the team's third KTM X-BOW GT4 with Stephan Brodmerkel, Kara Osman Ercan and Karl-Heinz Teichmann took 41st place in the final standings.
