AT HOME IN THE “GREEN HELL”: KTM X-BOW GT-XR COMPLETES DEMONSTRATION LAP OF THE NORDSCHLEIFE

There is hardly another venue that has had so much influence on the development of the KTM X-BOW GT-XR than the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The experience acquired at the legendary race track directly find their way into the concept of the KTM road and race cars. And the latest super sportscar of the Austrian manufacturer is no exception. During the 12-hour race, motorsport fans got the opportunity to take a close look at the car for the first time.

Not at the limit, but with a broad smile on his face, Felix von der Laden drove the KTM X-BOW GT-XR at the Nürburgring. “That was a unique experience for me,” the YouTube star said after his demonstration lap, just a few minutes prior to the race start. “The car is brand new, and I am one of the very first people being allowed to drive it. And at the Nordschleife and in front of so many fans, no less. I was slightly nervous, and I didn’t want to damage anything, of course.”

For several years already, von der Laden has been part of the line-up of KTM customer team Teichmann Racing that has specialised on running X-BOW models at what is arguably the world’s toughest race track. In the process, the professional and amateur drivers are competing for success with both the GT4 and GTX version. In 2022, True Racing by Reiter Engineering also ran the KTM X-BOW GT2 (SPX) for the first time as well.

And therefore, it doesn’t come as a surprise that numerous components from the various competition versions can be found on the new KTM X-BOW GT-XR as well. The numerous fans on-site were able to see that for themselves as well. After all, next to the demonstration run, there was also a display area where the super sportscar could be admired.

Having been involved in the project as a product manager from the very beginning, Lukas Barth was particularly impressed by the echo: “From the earliest stages, the Nürburgring has been playing an elementary role in the development process. Therefore, the presentation in a motorsport environment was even more important for us. The feedback from the teams, the drivers and particularly the fans proved that we were right all along.”

Next to the show for the fans, there was plenty of on-track competition, too: Teichmann Racing fielded two KTM X-BOW GTX and a KTM X-BOW GT4.
