Promising test under racing conditions for True Racing by Reiter Engineering

True Racing by Reiter Engineering successfully put their new SPX version of the KTM X-BOW GT2 to the test in real racing conditions at the third round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The race delivered some vital information and data regarding the development of the car. By qualifying in sixth and showing solid pace during the race, the team led by Hans Reiter underscored the progress that they have made in preparing for the Nürburgring 24 Hours at the end of May. KTM customer team Teichmann Racing celebrated a top-30 finish.

“We have upped our performance substantially but need to keep our feet on the ground,” said Hans Reiter. “The lap times throughout the field were a little slower compared to the last race, which distorts the picture somewhat. Nevertheless, we can still be very happy with our weekend. We unlocked some additional pace and eliminated a couple of minor issues. I was particularly happy with the performance of our drivers. I firmly believe that we have two strong and well-balanced line-ups in our cars.”

The line-ups include Tim Heinemann, who put together a flawless lap in qualifying to place his car sixth on the grid for the “53th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken Trophy”. During the race, the 2020 DTM Trophy champion was in fine fettle and managed to rise as high as third on track. “The mechanics and the engineers have done excellent work,” Heinemann said. “The race was part of our development programme first and foremost, but it was still great fun to be at the front of the field.”

While an unlucky situation brought a premature end to the race for Heinemann and his teammates Mads Siljehaug and Reinhard Kofler, the sister car finished the race in 26th. Max Hofer and the two brothers Ferdinand and Johannes Stuck made the top 30 in spite of a lengthy stop for repairs to the car.

The trio in the #927 car also managed to finish in the top 30 overall. Stephan Brodmerkel, Constantin Schöll and Laura Kraihamer came across the line in 29th position in the Teichmann Racing KTM X-BOW GTX and also secured the win in the CUPX class. "A big thank you goes to the crew, who had to work late on Friday night to get everything ready. In the race, everything went well," said Brodmerkel after the award ceremony. Close behind them were Georg Griesemann, Maik Rönnefarth, Yves Volte and Felix von der Laden, who finished second in class.

The next round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series is not until the 25 June. However, fans will not have to wait that long to experience more exciting action at the Green Hell: The Nürburgring 24 Hours takes place on the weekend from 26 to 29 May, with the associated qualifying race three weeks earlier from 6 to 8 May.
