Now 77 years old, MotoGP is the fastest, most prestigious, and most-watched motorcycle racing series in the world. 2025 was the longest season on record, with 22 Grands Prix in 18 countries and with more than 3.5 million spectators visiting the circuits. The FIM world championship features the premier class of MotoGP (1000cc prototype machinery with the latest developments in electronics, aerodynamics and performance-focused design) but also support categories of Moto2 and Moto3 with single-supplier parameters to develop talent. 2023 saw the introduction of ‘Sprints’ meaning that each Grand Prix delivers MotoGP race action on both Saturday and Sunday. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has been part of the MotoGP elite since the start of 2017. The company earned its first podium trophy in 2018 and RC16 technology has gathered silverware every subsequent season, with victories in 2020, 2021, 2022. In 2025 Pedro Acosta finished 4th in the world championship, equaling the firm’s personal best for a MotoGP racer, and KTM ranked as the 2nd best Constructor in 2024. The KTM RC16 holds the all-time top speed record of 366.1 kmph, set by Brad Binder and Pol Espargaro in successive years at the 2023 and 2024 Italian Grand Prix. In 2026, and for KTM’s tenth MotoGP campaign, four riders will again represent KTM colors across the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Red Bull KTM Tech3 teams. Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta in the Factory Racing crew, and Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales in the Tech3 squad. 2026 will also be the last year for the current 1000cc engine and technical rulebook as MotoGP ushers in a new era with 850cc motorcycles from 2027. KTM is one of only three brands in the FIM Grand Prix Motorcycling World Championship to have an extensive racing presence through all three divisions - Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP – and with merit. Moto3 (250cc 4-stroke motorcycles) is the foundation level in Grand Prix and KTM boasts six Championship titles – four achieved with help from long-term partner Red Bull KTM Ajo in 2012, 2016, 2021 and 2025 and two further crowns won by the KTM RC4 in 2013 and 2020. KTM have accumulated over 100 wins with KTM RC4 technology since owning the very first Moto3 championship in 2012 and the bike totaled 20 victories from 22 Grands Prix in 2025. In Moto2 (765cc engines) Red Bull KTM Ajo won three consecutive titles from 2021-2023 and provided a crucial platform for more talent development, helping rookies or Moto3 graduates reach podium places. Names like Acosta, Binder, Oliveira, Martin, Fernandez, Gardner, Öncü, Muñoz and Veijer since 2017. Six of those riders from the Moto2 roster have gone on to enter KTM MotoGP pit boxes.

KTM GP ACADEMY
The KTM GP Academy was created as a talent filtering system to identify, support and nurture some of the brightest prospects from development series like the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, the Northern Talent Cup and the Austrian Junior Cup through the learning process of Moto3 and Moto2. The factory-run structure is established with the close cooperation of key teams and partners such as Red Bull KTM Ajo and Red Bull KTM Tech3 with the goal of eventually elevating an athlete onto the MotoGP grid. Names like Brad Binder, Augusto Fernandez, Miguel Oliveira, Remy Gardner and more have all made full steps through the KTM GP Academy while Pedro Acosta has won two titles in just three seasons of Grand Prix competition. KTM’s expanding culture in MotoGP, the presence of different models of machinery and valued collaborators such as WP Suspension mean that individuals in the KTM GP Academy are very familiar with the technology and ethos of the company to evolve and chase their dreams.
