Strong points haul for KTM teams in ADAC GT4 Germany and DTM Trophy

  • Valuable points for Leo Pichler and Leon Wassertheurer in the battle for ADAC GT4 Germany junior titl
  • RTR Projects makes its mark with Matej Pavlicek and Lennart Marioneck in Sachsenring guest start
  • Top 5 results for Reinhard Kofler in DTM Trophy at Hockenheim

GT4 fans in Germany got their money’s worth during the first weekend of October: while the DTM Trophy was in action at Hockenheim, two ADAC GT4 Germany races were scheduled at Sachsenring. True Racing by Reiter Engineering and KTM customer teams Razoon Racing and RTR Projects were in the middle of the action.

The fact that points were scored at the undulating track in Saxony is something the Razoon team can thank Leo Pichler and Leon Wassertheurer for. The two young drivers shone in both races with their competitive spirit and finished in ninth and fourth place in the junior classification. As a result, the duo considerably boosted its points’ tally and is in fourth place of the standings – only three points behind the third-placed drivers.

As guest starters, they weren’t eligible to score points, but the RTR Projects team was just as competitive. The team from Brno ran a KTM X-BOW GT4 for Matej Pavlicek and Lennart Marioneck. The KTM team that had secured the ESET V4 Cup title just before, particularly shone with a strong recovery drive in the first race. The duo having lost several places in the opening stages, they eventually finished in sixth place of the junior classification.

Reinhard Kofler, meanwhile, brought home a pair of fifth places from the DTM Trophy round at Hockenheimring. For the KTM works driver, the Sunday race in particular turned into a turbulent on and off. Laps in the lead, rain suddenly setting in and an interruption of the race were all part of the race for the 36-year-old who had scored the maiden race win for KTM in the series a few weeks earlier. Teammate Laura Kraihamer scored a point in both races with the second KTM X-BOW GT4 EVO run by True Racing by Reiter Engineering.

For the drivers in both ADAC GT4 Germany and DTM Trophy, the season is entering its hot stage. The GT4 series organised by the ADAC still has two race weekends remaining at Hockenheim (22-24 October) and Nürburgring (5-7 November). The DTM Trophy finale at Norisring is scheduled from 8-10 October.
