COCKPIT COMMAND CENTRE IN THE KTM X-BOW GT-XR: PERFECT ERGONOMICS FOR DRIVING COMFORT AT SPEED

The KTM X-BOW GT-XR1 is one of the most uncompromising road-legal super sportscars on the market. And the cockpit is where the car’s motorsport DNA shines through. From the removable sport steering wheel with integrated high-resolution LED display to the digital switches and the patented pedal system, the KTM X-BOW GT-XR has been optimised to the very last detail to offer intuitive operation and the highest performance.

The KTM philosophy is brought to life in the command centre of the KTM X-BOW GT-XR – the removable sport steering wheel, combining high-class visual design with ergonomic functionality. It is based on the GT steering wheel used on the KTM X-BOW GTX and has all of the switches and signal lights required on a road-legal vehicle. Its aggressive, low-profile design combined with carbon and black microfibre cover is synonymous with the motorsport aesthetic. The motorsport-style buttons and dials can be operated with ease even at high speed, while the sleek shape and integrated display give the driver the best possible view of the road ahead. And thanks to the ergonomic hand grips, the driver is always in complete control. As a result, it not only feels smooth, but also allows the KTM X-BOW GT-XR to be steered with absolute precision.

Seamlessly integrated into the top section of the sport steering wheel is a high-resolution LED screen displaying all of the key information the driver requires, including speed, rpm, water and oil temperature and fuel level. When the driver switches from sport mode to performance mode by pressing the Race button, the display shows other key information relevant to on-track driving. All this means that KTM X-BOW GT-XR drivers have everything they need right in front of their eyes, regardless of the driving situation.

Another highlight of the sports steering wheel: To help drivers enter and exit the car, it can simply be removed and safely stored in a special bracket – just like in any pedigree race car.

The KTM X-BOW GT-XR’s sport steering wheel also has large paddle shifters milled from a single block of aluminium to enable precision gear changes on the road or track. Drivers can keep both hands firmly on the wheel while changing up or down. An LED display integrated into the screen also tells the driver exactly when the optimum rpm for a gear change has been reached.

Besides the steering wheel, the switch panel in the centre console also allows intuitive control of the super sportscar. It is also ergonomically designed with easy-to-use switches for the sound system, ventilation and air conditioning. Thanks to the resistive technology on the touchscreen, the switches can also be operated with ease even while wearing gloves.

The seating position can be adjusted to a variety of different body shapes, ensuring the driver feels as comfortable as possible behind the wheel. Not only can the sport steering wheel be adjusted upwards and downwards, the pedals can also be moved. Thanks to KTM’s patented adjustment system, the entire pedal unit can be adjusted to account for the driver’s height – from 1.5m to 2m.

The new KTM X-BOW GT-XR is available immediately from EUR 299,150 (excl. local taxes and import duties). Thanks to the European small-volume production authorisation, the vehicle is available and road-legal across the continent.
