ABOUT PEDRO
Pedro’s accomplishments at the age of 21 mark this Spaniard as a Grand Prix generational talent. Acosta quickly made a name for himself by winning the Pre-Moto3 Spanish Championship in 2017. In 2020, he clinched the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup title, showcasing his potential on the international stage. The following year, Acosta made a sensational debut in the Moto3 World Championship, becoming the first rider in Grand Prix history to finish on the podium in his first four races, including a remarkable victory at the Doha Grand Prix after starting from pit lane. He went on to secure the 2021 Moto3 World Championship in his rookie season, solidifying his status as a rising star. Acosta progressed to the Moto2 category in 2022 with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. Despite facing challenges, including an injury that caused him to miss two races, he finished the campaign with three victories and was named 'Rookie of the Year.' In 2023, he dominated the Moto2 class, pocketing the title with two races to spare and became the youngest intermediate class champion since Dani Pedrosa in 2004. In 2024, Acosta made his MotoGP debut on the RC16, showcasing his adaptability and skill in the premier division. He was lifting trophies in only his second and third Grands Prix and ended the year in P6. That distinction improved to P4 while in the Red Bull KTM livery in 2025 and he increased his podium tally to 10. 2026 will be only Pedro’s sixth GP term but he is already poised for more greatness.
