GREAT SUCCESS AT THE NÜRBURGRING 24 H RACE: TEICHMANN RACING ON P24 WITH THE KTM X-BOW GT4!

  • Teichmann Racing extremely successful with two KTM X-BOW GT4s in places 24 & 46
  • KTM factory rider Reini Kofler amongst the top 25 together with a strong customer crew
  • Rain interruption during the night prevents Teichmann Racing from an even better result

Almost 100 teams tackled the season highlight on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the legendary 24-hour race, starting on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. During practice and qualifying on Thursday and Friday, the weather conditions were cool, but mostly dry, but it began to rain heavily just at the start of the race. However, that was only meant to be a taste of what the teams should experiencfe on this unusually late September date. Teichmann Racing had two teams in the "CUP-X" class, with works driver Reini Kofler on both vehicles. Stephan Brodmerkel, Karl-Heinz Teichmann, Ercan “Airgee” Kara Osman and Kofler shared the KTM X-BOW GT4 with the starting number 110, while Georg Griesemann, youngster Yves Volte and Maik Rönnefarth were named on the car with the number 111. Kofler qualified both cars and conquered starting positions 37 and 38, thus also the first row of the second starting group - a great grid position in the extremely strong field with 30 GT3 vehicles alone.

After the start of the race was completed successfully by the respective drivers (Kofler # 111 and "Airgee" # 110), there was excitement in the pits already on the first lap. A TCR participant had turned the car with the # 110, and due to the routine check at the pits that became necessary, the team dropped to 71st place. The sister car with Kofler at the wheel, on the other hand, was able to move up place by place. Shortly before midnight - both KTM X-BOW GT4s ran without any problems - the race was interrupted with the red flag. Too much rain and thus standing water on the track made an interruption necessary until the restart at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. From then on, the focus for both teams was to cross the finish line without any mistakes - which was executed impressively and therefore the team was rewarded with the places 24 (# 111) and 46 (# 110) overall. Team boss Michael Teichmann was accordingly satisfied: “We have once again demonstrated the competitiveness, reliability and the exceptionally good price-performance ratio of the KTM X-BOW GT4. Driving this far up in the ranks with 30 GT3 and numerous Porsche Cup cars on the grid shows the potential of the car. Our customer team, which was thankfully supported by factory driver Reini Kofler, achieved the best KTM result so far in the 24-hour race here at the Nürburgring. Big compliments to all the drivers who showed a great performance - and that in extremely difficult conditions. We could certainly have made up a few places more thanks to the good Michelin rain tires during the night, but of course safety comes first. Big thanks also to my entire team, the mechanics, the engineers, the helpers. We're going to celebrate now, that's really a great result for us and for KTM!”
