Red Bull KTM Signs Laengenfelder for MX2 2026 Season

FIM MX2 World Champion Simon Laengenfelder will steer his KTM 250 SX-F from the confines of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and the Austrian set-up for 2026 as teammate to Andrea Adamo.

The 21-year-old German will look to become Red Bull KTM’s first back-to-back champion in the class since 2019 and shifts across from the Rome-based De Carli faction of the factory team for his sixth full Grand Prix term on Austrian machinery. Laengenfelder can rely on the proven stewardship of Team Manager Joel Smets and will be the sole MX2 entrant for the Austrian roster as Adamo makes his debut in the MXGP category with the KTM 450 SX-F.

Laengenfelder claimed his first MX2 world title (and Red Bull KTM’s sixteenth) thanks to six Grand Prix wins and 12 podiums from 20 rounds this year.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing De Carli will continue to push the progress of Belgian twins Lucas and Sacha Coenen in MXGP and MX2 respectively.
