17th January, Chennai: The first edition of the KTM Orange Cup got off to a roaring start when KTM owners lined up to race at internationally renowned Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai.
Exclusive to owners of the KTM 390 Duke and the RC 390, the KTM Orange Cup was organized as a one-make race under the aegis of the FMSCI and under the International Sporting Code of the FIM. 66 participants from across the country raced on the day for a place on the podium.
The participants were divided into separate groups of RC and Duke. Each group went through sessions of classroom training, track training and practice before proceeding for the qualifying session and the final race. The performance of riders in the qualifying session decided their grid positions for the final race.
The final 2 races were closely contested affairs with the racers pushing their machines to the limit on every turn and corner of the track. At the end of the day we had our first set of KTM Orange Cup winners!
