MARTINEZ TOPS WOMEN’S PRO CLASS AT WASHINGTON WORCS
McCleary, WA – Factory FMF/KTM rider and three-time WORCS Women’s Pro Champion Kacy Martinez returned to the series for the first time in two years to claim victory at Straddleline ORV.
Martinez put in a flawless ride from start to finish as she grabbed the holeshot off the live engine start. Heading straight into the motocross track Martinez gained time and led her opponents into the tight, technical woods section. Maintaining her lead, Martinez continued to sprint for the remaining laps of the 55 minute race.
“The woods section had some tough terrain that really helped me separate from the rest of the class,” mentioned Martinez. “As soon as I was in a comfortable lead I focused in on getting the overall race win.”
In dominating fashion, Martinez rendered a 5 minute lead at the finish over the Women’s Pro Class. She was also successful in accomplishing her goal of taking the overall race win against a field of 55 riders.
Martinez will now shift her focus back to GNCC racing, where she has already wrapped up the 2014 championship. Martinez hopes to take home overall wins in the morning Amateur Race at the remaining rounds.
