COOK EARNS 5TH AT ATV GNCC SEASON OPENER

FRE/KTM Team rider Bryan Cook started his day off right at the season opener of the ATV GNCC Series when he rocketed his KTM ATV out front early to grab the holeshot award and went on to finish the day in 5th place.
After nailing the holeshot on his Baldwin Motorsports powered KTM engine Cook led reigning Champion Chris Borich, followed by Bryan Wolf, Chris Bithell and Adam McGill for the first lap and a half. At that point, Wolf and Borich were able to get around Cook on an alternate line. Wolf led until the end of lap two before having some clutch issues. The sand course began to deteriorate and challenge even the best in the field as the 2-hour race continued on. Cook dropped to 5th place around the halfway mark but remained close to the other top four riders through the finish.
“I was very excited to grab the holeshot and run the pace of the leaders for the first lap and a half of the race. I know that I can be closer to their speed I just have a few areas I need to work on. I am looking forward to seeing if I can pick it up at the next round,” commented Cook.
FRE/KTM support riders Aarol Bright in the XC2 class and Derrick Shaw in the College B class both picked up 4th place overall.
