X-BOW R / RR - THE BENCHMARK IN THE SUPER SPORTS CAR SEGMENT
When the X-BOW was launched in 2008, it was a milestone in the history of the KTM brand and at the same time a new reference in the small but elite segment of radical lightweight sports cars. From the beginning KTM has relied on premium materials, high tech and specialized know-how for the first car it has produced. Included is an avant-garde monocoque made from carbon fibre such as is standard in Formula One because of its safety and weight advantage. Through the complete omission of electronic driving assist systems and comfort features, the X-BOW R offers purist driving pleasure. In the rear there is a 300 hp 2.0 litre TFSI engine from Audi with a maximum torque of 400 Nm ensuring an unbelievable driving experience both on and off the racing circuit – the X-BOW R is of course homologated for use on the road. For racing purposes only KTM additionally offers the X-BOW RR – the essence of all the experience that KTM has gained in the widest variety of motorsports events around the globe. Tuned uncompromisingly for victory, almost limitlessly customisable, alarmingly fast for its opponents – and still surprisingly affordable. Depending on the configuration level, the RR can be the perfect vehicle for the "KTM X-BOW BATTLE" or an extremely awkward rival for the international competitors. The specialists from the KTM motorsport department do their best to fulfill every customer request regarding the RR.
X-BOW GT - THE MEANING OF SUPER SPORTS CAR COMPLETELY AFRESH
No other car epitomizes the term "super sports car" as thoroughly and uncompromisingly as the X-BOW GT. Based on the X-BOW R – itself unique in the matter of high-tech, safety, drive dynamics and appearance – KTM has created a vehicle whose exceptional characteristics can now also be experienced without a helmet. The elegant, frameless windscreen construction, which wraps protectively around the driver and passenger, allows the occupants to forego their own headgear. At the same time, however, it does nothing to impair the puristic driving experience or the radical design of the revolutionary X-BOW. The technical basis for the KTM X-BOW GT was provided by the "R", with its 2.0 litre TFSI power unit from engine partner Audi and a carbon monocoque found nowhere else in street-legal production vehicles. So it's hardly surprising that numerous reminiscences of racing are also to be encountered in the interior – like the fixed Recaro seat shells, the four-point safety belts, the sliding pedal box, and the multi-function steering wheel with adjustable height and depth. The X-BOW GT benefits from the racing genes of the tried-and-tested model, combining them with new qualities to meet the requirements resulting from installation of a windscreen. There are many new details to discover in the interior; the center console in particular has been completely revamped.
