KTM 65 SX 2014: PROMOTION TO THE NEXT DIVISION
PERFORMANCE
CLUTCH
New for 2014, the hydraulic clutch actuation system from Formula guarantees smooth operation and very precise clutch control.
ENGINE
The 65 SX benefits from state-of-the-art two-stroke technology and a six-speed transmission with easy gear-changes. The pressure-controlled exhaust valve (PCEV) delivers plenty of torque from the bottom end up and very linear power development.
RADIATORS
Constant temperature control and hence consistently high performance are ensured by an intelligent cooling circuit with integrated crankcase cooling and two radiators.
CHASSIS
FORK
The upside-down fork from WP Suspension, with 35 mm diameter outer tubes and 215 mm of suspension travel, guarantees supreme responsiveness, optimum damping properties and outstanding ride stability. With adjustable rebound and compression damping, the fork can be fine-tuned to rider and track in no time at all.
FRAME AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS
Both the WP upside-down telescopic fork with its 35 mm diameter outer tubes and 215 mm of suspension travel and the WP shock absorber have adjustable rebound and compression damping. The stable steel frame on the 65 SX MY 2014 has a bolted-on, light alloy subframe.
BRAKES
Heavy-duty, four-piston brake callipers bite hard into the lightweight 198 and 160 mm wave brake discs at front and rear respectively. A revamped handbrake armature with upgraded piston system is fitted for the 2014 model year.
TOP ERGONOMICS
GRAPHICS AND COLOURS
The graphic design derived from that of the full-size SX bikes makes the 65 SX even cooler. Its frame has a robust plastic coating in anthracite metallic.
HANDLEBAR
The classy, anodised, Renthal handlebar made from a high-quality aluminium alloy excels with optimal ergonomics and the highest levels of stability. A crash pad around the centre brace protects the rider from hard knocks.
An absolutely fully-fledged sports machine for up-and-coming riders from around 8 to 12 years of age, up to a height of 1.60 m. The 65 SX defines the benchmark in its class in terms of performance, handling, equipment and workmanship.
