THE "HOME GAME" IS IMMINENT
Over 60 KTM X-BOWs start at Red Bull Ring!
- KTM X-BOW fans will get their money's worth on May 29-30
- About 70 of the Austrian-made super sports car are expected
- 37 "X-BOW BATTLE" competitors promise spectacular motorsport
- Spielberg welcomes fans with free admission and open paddock
- A true KTM Festival thanks to "X-BOW DAYS” & “Erzberg Rodeo" event combo
The "KTM X -BOW DAYS", which are being hosted for the first time this year, have already proved to be a great success. The season’s opener on the Pannonia Ring (Hungary) was a real hit, followed by a spectacular new record turnout at the Lausitzring in East Germany two weeks ago.
But the two upcoming days at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg - virtually the big "home game" for the X-BOW squad - should trump all previous events. More than 60 examples of the Austrian super sports car will be at the F1 racing circuit and ready to impress on May 29-30. Organizer Georg Silbermayr received 37 nominations just for the exclusive brand cup series, the “X-BOW BATTLE", which incidentally is one of the largest and most successful series in Europe. "We look forward to an absolutely full house and two days of pure excitement on our home race track! Visitors will be able to move completely freely around the grounds, from the paddock to the pits and the stands!"
KTM fans planning to visit the Red Bull Ring will be treated to an absolutely thrilling event combo because only 60 kilometres away at Erzberg in Styria, the Erzberg Rodeo, the world’s toughest off-road race, also starts on Thursday!
"All KTM fans are welcome to visit the four- and two-wheeled festival bonanzas. Both promise to be nothing but high-throttle motorsports action and non-stop excitement," says Georg Silbermayr and adds with a wink: "The question is, if the Erzberg colleagues can keep up with our party spirit!"
High suspense "BATTLE SPRINT" race expected
As it did in Hungary and Germany, the "BATTLE SPRINT", made up of three separate races, promises pure excitement. With his victory at Lausitzring, Ernst Kirchmayr has become the clear challenger to current overall leader Pavel Heinik of the Czech Republic. Laura Kraihamer has positioned herself comfortably in position three: She seems to be getting faster with every race and is going for an all-out attack at the Red Bull Ring.
But a number of other competitors, like Klaus Angerhofer or Holger Baumgartner, the latter driving like a true Styrian champion, are promising to make it difficult for the top three candidates. Then there is Michael Grassl who starts again in Jim Gebhardt’s car after an impressive debut at the Lausitzring and the Styrian Hermann Berger, who almost made the podium two years ago at the Red Bull Ring. Not to mention the two pseudonym drivers "PETER PAN" and "BOB BAU" who could also clinch a podium place, as they proved at the Lausitzring.
