FERRIS EARNS 10TH OVERALL AT OAKLAND SUPERCROSS; ANDERSON WINS AGAIN!
OAKLAND, California – Red Bull KTM Factory rider Dean Ferris earned 10th overall at the fourth round of the 250SX Monster Energy Supercross Series held at Oakland Coliseum. Rockstar Energy KTM rider Jason Anderson gained his third victory in the 250SX class season.
Jason Anderson had another good night out on his Rockstar KTM and picked up his third victory from four rounds while Oakland continued to be a learning experience for Red Bull KTM Factory Team rookie Dean Ferris. With his third win of the season at Oakland Anderson earned back the point leader red number plate.
Ferris got off to a decent start in the second 250SX heat race where he rounded the first corner in fourth place on his KTM 250 SX-F. He dropped some positions during the six-lap race but finished seventh to transfer to the main event.
In the main event, Ferris launched off the line in ninth only to engage in a tussle with Jake Canada for the spot for the entire race. He hung onto Canada right through to the final lap but then made a mistake in a rhythm section and Canada slipped past. The mistake cost Ferris one position and he crossed the checkered flag in tenth position. Now four rounds into the Supercross series, Ferris sits tenth overall in the series point standings.
KTM is currently leading the Manufacturer's standings in the 250-class and is second in the 450s.
