    ARTHUR SISSIS

Australian teenager Arthur Sissis moved into prominent position on the racing radar screen in 2011 in his third season in the Red Bull Rookies MotoGP Cup. Born in Adelaide, Australia on July 15, 1995 Arthur first raced at aged 7, winning many junior titles in a range of riding disciplines. Sissis first came to the Red Bull Rookies MotoGP Cup in 2009 and has to concentrate on making the transition from speedway competition.  In 2011 he won four races and took three seconds. Despite two DNFs and once being out of the points, he eventually finished second after an all-or-nothing final race for the title with Italian Lorenzo Baldassarri. His efforts clinched him a place in the Red Bull KTM Ajo team for 2012 in the Moto3 class, which he described as “a dream come true”.

Sissis, who rides the KTM Moto3 bike #61 had a successful rookie year in the official KTM factory team, winning 84 World championship points and finishing overall twelfth in a highly competitive field of riders. he learned from riding alongside teammate Sandro Cortese who won the first Moto3 World Championship. The highlight of his season with his podium third in the GP of Australia at Phillip Island to the collective joy of his hometown fans. It came on the same weekend as the final appearance of Australian Casey Stoner, which prompted the Australian media to label him as the next generation of top Australian riders.
