GOLD AND BRONZE FOR KTM AT X-GAMES IN MUNICH!
KTM factory riders Maria Forsberg and Taddy Blazusiak tackled a difficult technical EnduroCross track at the X-Games in Munich on Sunday winning gold and bronze medals in the women’s and men’s competition respectively.
The competition was originally scheduled for Saturday but was cancelled because of bad weather on the outdoor track at the city’s Olympic Stadium. Although the weather improved to allow the competition to go ahead on Sunday, the track was still soft and making conditions very difficult for all riders.
Maria Forsberg, a KTM USA factory rider is no stranger to the X-Games podium and is one of the most outstanding offroad riders in US women’s competition. Her performance underlined her exceptional skill on a difficult track.
Taddy Blazusiak, one of the recognized stars of the sport of EnduroCross tipped over in the opening lap of the final in the so-called rock garden obstacle that proved to be a main stumbling block for all competitors. This cost him valuable time but he was able to pull back enough to finish on the podium. KTM factory teammate American Mike Brown, winner of the gold medal at both the X-Games in Brazil and Barcelona, Spain, finished fifth, KTM rider Kyle Redmond (USA) and KTM factory rider Jonny Walker of the UK finished sixth and eighth.
