BIG NIGHT FOR KTM AT THE FIM GALA!

published at 04.12.2012 / Creado por Marcia Hill

KTM and its factory riders were out in force at the weekend for the celebrations at the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM Gala) in the ‘Salle des Etoiles’ of the Sporting Monte-Carlo Club last weekend. The Gala also represented the conclusion of the Austrian brand’s most successful season to date in international motorcycle competition.

Some 500 guests, including many legends of the sport saw KTM World Champions collect the reward for their efforts in 2012 season. They included Marc Coma of Spain (World Cross Country Rally Champion); Sandro Cortese of Germany, inaugural Moto3 World Champion, Italian Antonio Cairoli (MX1 World Champion); Dutch rider Jeffrey Herlings (MX2 World Champion); Austrian Matthias Walkner (MX3 World Champion); Tim Gajser of Slovenia (MX 125 World Champion); Caleb Grothues of Australia (Motocross 65 World Champion); Enduro 1 World Champion Antoine Meo of France and Enduro 3 World Champion Christophe Nambotin of France. The remaining KTM World Champion, Taddy Blazusiak of Poland who won the SuperEnduro title was unable to be present at the FIM Gala and was excused.

In addition to this impressive list of titles across a wide variety of disciplines, KTM also took Manufacturers World Titles in the following categories: World Cross Country Rallies, Motocross 65, Motocross 125, MX1, MX2 & MX3, E1, E2 & E3 and Moto3!

Tim Gajser, the MX125 World Champion was also voted as Rookie of the Year by media, fans, teams, industry and riders via the FIM-LIVE.com website during more recent weeks.

Pit Beirer (Head of KTM Motorsports): “The FIM Gala concludes a stellar season for KTM as a brand, its factory riders and teams. I would like to offer my congratulations to all our champions and my sincere thanks to all those who support them. The success we have enjoyed this year is the result of hard work and dedication from everyone ranging from our R&D staff to our team managers, factory riders and all our support staff. They can all be proud of these titles.”
