125 DUKE - A GREAT PERFORMANCE
The 125 Duke offers maximum riding fun for all young people and the young at heart alike, thanks to thoroughbred motorcycle technology, which for 2013 has been enhanced by refined brakes including a larger front disc and a disengageable antilocking system – a world’s first in the 125 cc class! A refined four-stroke single cylinder with fuel injection and six-gear transmission provides adequate propulsion. The extremely economical engine with a sophisticated DOHC 4-valve cylinder head and liquid cooling not just has a strong and well-balanced power delivery but also great refinement, thanks to an integrated balancer shaft. An advanced electronic fuel injection and 3-way catalytic converter ensure clean emissions. A very light steel trellis frame, equipped with high quality WP suspension components, is the basis for dynamic fun in the twisties. The 125 Duke's upside-down forks have the same 43 mm tube diameter as the RC8 R – in other words, real racing equipment that guarantees highest levels of stability and precision. The 125 Duke is also a genuine motorcycle in terms of dimensions, providing plenty of space and freedom of movement. The gathered sitting position supports relaxed touring equally as well as committed cornering.
200 DUKE - THE RE-DISCOVERY OF LIGHTNESS
The 200 Duke proves that engine capacity is not a suitable criteria for riding pleasure and corner speed. Based on the state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled, singlecylinder four stroke engine of the 125 Duke, modifications have been made for the 200 Duke to generate 60 % more displacement and correspondingly fully developed power to the tune of 26 horses. New camshafts, bigger valves, a larger piston, a completely new crankshaft, new airbox, and new exhaust layout result in a bike that offers punchy torque with irresistible smoothness. The intricate engine design, state-of-the-art injection electronics and the closeratio, six-speed transmission not only help the 200 Duke to achieve impressive performance, but also very moderate fuel consumption. Thanks to the regulated catalytic converter, it produces only minimal emissions. The first-class chassis, with light-weight trellis frame in the proven KTM design, turns the 200 Duke into a real surfer through the curves. Weight grouped close to the centre of gravity maximizes maneuverability and precision. The 200 Duke has everything that distinguishes a genuine KTM – from the high-quality chassis components to the multi-function cockpit, and for 2013 even a disengageable antilocking system.
390 DUKE - THE SLEEPER
More than meets the eye – that is the basic idea behind the new 390 Duke! The result is a motorcycle with the dimensions and weight of a 125, but the power and the performance of a veritable sport bike. The completely new built engine turned out extremely compact despite its 375 cc of displacement thanks to sophisticated design details like vertically stacked transmission shafts. In fact, it’s so compact that the 390 Duke uses the same ultralight trellis frame as its sister models. Combined with its low weight of only 148 kilograms fully fuelled, this ensures absolutely superior handling qualities. For the state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine, the Austrian designers pulled out all the stops, from the four-valve cylinder head with DLC coated finger followers, to the dry-sump lubrication with crankcase evacuation, to a three-way catalytic converter, in order to combine 32 kW (44 hp) of maximum power with impressive refinement, extreme reliability and great ecological credentials. WP Suspension components matched to the dynamic performance, as well as a top quality braking system with disengageable ABS ensure top precision, full control and maximum safety – perfect conditions for unlimited riding enjoyment. Riders of much larger sport bikes will be left amazed!
690 DUKE - THE NEW ESSENCE OF MOTORCYCLING
Back then, KTM revived the pure, unadulterated single-cylinder motorcycle in the form of the "original" Duke. Judging by the latest 690 Duke that stands before us today, much has been gained: smoothness, room for a pillion passenger, long-distance ability. But what it has never lost is its intensive and elemental ride dynamics. The secret: a cylinder head with dual ignition and individual, selective mappings for each plug make our most popular engine the best Duke powertrain ever. The result: a whopping 68 hp, a mountain of torque, as well as a throttle response and NVH on the level of multi-cylinder engines. An extremely rigid and superlight trellis frame made from chrome-molybdenum steel sections, a new, state-of-the-art Bosch 9M+ ABS with an extremely dynamic tuning, and now even lighter wheels ensure precision and stability in every situation. These are only a few of the points that make the 690 Duke a true do-it-all bike, indescribably versatile despite all the hunger for corners. But be careful: the lightness of being single can be addictive, because every trip on the 690 Duke is an incomparable and unforgettable riding experience.
690 DUKE R - FOR ROAD AND TRACK
If the versatility of the 690 Duke can be beat at all, then by the new 690 Duke R. Its top quality suspension components by WP Suspension are adjustable with such amazing flexibility that the set-up character can be varied all the way from “comfortable” to “race ready“. The “R” chassis can neither be overextended by race track use on slicks with the corresponding, extreme cornering speeds nor by the incredible deceleration of the new Brembo braking system. The exclusive Akrapovic slip-on not just saves weight but also bestows the dynamic single with two additional horsepower and even more bite. The higher chassis and the raised foot pegs make for even deeper lean angles, while the sporty yet relaxed riding position is as well suited to road riding as it is to track racing. The 690 Duke R’s ABS can stay on even on the track – thanks to the Supermoto mode that allows the rear wheel to lock up while still controlling the front wheel. Should, in the heat of battle, a ground contact ensue despite the immense potential, standard crash bars protect the first-rate equipment.
990 SUPER DUKE R - THE ALPHA ANIMAL
If there's ever been an uncompromising riding machine in its purest form then it's the ultra-sporty 990 Super Duke R. Rated at a plentiful 125 hp, the LC8 V-twin engine delivers a solid punch, incomparable liveliness, and perfect control. The legendary trellis frame makes for maximum agility with its sporting geometry and only nine kilograms of weight. The special “R” chassis ensures a high-resolution feedback about the road surface with its precisely adjustable WP steering damper and top quality suspension components. First rate equipment like the machined, black anodized triple clamps, radial brake and clutch levers or the high quality Brembo brakes with radial four-pot front callipers elevate this superbike among the naked bikes and ensure intuitive operation. Massive power and perfect control right up to the limit make the 990 Super Duke R the ultimate nemesis of hypersport bikes. Weightless agility, incisive precision and an optimised suspension set-up let the "R" score on race tracks and on public roads, too.
