BLAZUSIAK WINS EVERETT ENDUROCROSS

published at 21.10.2012 / Creado por Christy LaCurelle

Everett, WA – Red Bull KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak won his third consecutive race in a row after taking the win at the sixth round of the AMA EnduroCross Series in front of the sold out Washington crowd.

Taddy Blazusiak put together another picture perfect day after starting off with the fastest lap time in the afternoon hot lap to earn first gate pick in his heat. His Factory FMF/KTM teammate, Mike Brown, turned the 6th fastest hot lap of the day and was placed in the first heat of the night.

In heat one, Brown took the early lead and went on to easily win his heat to transfer to the main event. Blazusiak was placed in the third heat where he also put his KTM out front early and took the win to join Brown on the main event gate.

In the main event, it was Blazusiak with the holeshot followed closely by Brown, Taylor Robert and Cody Webb. Blazusiak and Brown led the riders around the track the first two laps before getting stuck together on the technical boulder section of the track.

“I just got a little stuck coming around the rock pile, and unfortunately, Brown got stuck behind me and we both got passed by Webb,” remarked Blazusiak.

Luckily, Blazusiak recovered in 2nd and was able to close back in on Webb. He spent the next few laps diminishing the gap between him and the lead rider. With a few laps remaining, he made a clean pass on Webb to move back into the lead. Once in the lead, Blazusiak pulled away to a comfortable distance before taking the win. Robert finished 2nd place while RPM/KTM rider Bobby Prochnau rounded out the podium and Brown hung on to finish 4th.

“It was a very challenging course,” stated Blazusiak. “It was fast and flowing in most of the sections but each time you got to the large rock section it would break your rhythm and throw you off pace. All in all, it was a pretty fun track to race and I am glad I was able to make the fewest mistakes and hang on for the win.”
