The rider has one of the most powerful V2 engines of our times and one of the best chassis in the world at his or her disposal - totally street-legal. The electronic Keihin engine management with twin throttle valves regulates the modern electronic fuel injection system on the 1190 RC8 R, focusing on maximum power with predictable engine characteristics and on spontaneous responsiveness with controllable throttle response. The new slipper-clutch minimizes rear wheel hop under massive braking even more effectively now. The chassis features a 7.5 kg lightweight tubular space frame made from high-strength chrome-molybdenum steel and high end components from WP Suspension. It sets standards in dimensional stability and lightweight construction and it achieves fantastic precision as well as unparalleled stability. The carefully tuned suspension ensures a composed and comfortable ride even on public roads. All this makes the RC8 R a consistently developed package for a single purpose – great fun on every single mile!

1190 RC8 R TRACK - FOR RACE TRACK USE ONLY
In MY 2013, KTM will once again offer the RC8 R production racer, “race use only” version. Top IDM riders like Bauer, Nebel and Smrz have proven the merits of the concept with countless race wins. The offer is directed at championship racers on a national level as well as committed amateurs who intend to use their sport bike exclusively on racetracks. The bike has a Superstock homologation and is assembled “ready to race” by the KTM factory racing department, using lots of goodies from the KTM Power- Parts range essential for serious racing. 180 hp make for acceptable propulsion, and a mechanical antihopping clutch minimizes rear wheel hop under massive trail braking. Leave the shop and lay down the fastest lap of the trackday without any conversions, with the possible exception of a stop-over at the painter’s for your sponsor’s colour scheme.
