Iván Cervantes was born in the coastal town of Cambrils, Tarragona, Spain in 1982. He began his motorsport career as a motocross rider, achieving five national titles before turning his hand to Enduro. Cervantes was just 23 years old when he made racing history in 2005 by becoming the first ever Spanish Enduro World Champion in E1. In 2006, he repeated this achievement and went on to win the World Championship in the E3 category in 2007. He rode with KTM from 2002 to 2010 before a brief 2-year sojourn with another team.
Throughout his career, which has also included domination of the Spanish National Championship, Cervantes has become well known for his commitment and dedication to the sport.
Cervantes finished second in the E3 World Championship title fight in 2014, finally conceding defeat to his young KTM factory teammate Matthew Phillips, who moved up to the class after winning the Junior World Title. Cervantes brings his rich experience and racing ethic to the E3 competition and the battle between him and his younger teammate is expected to be another highlight in 2015.
