1173.5 MILES IN 19 HOURS ON A KTM 990 SM T!

Ultimate test of KTM’s awesome all-rounder from the British RiDE magazine.
While many of us spent the Easter weekend eating chocolate eggs or performing overdue DIY duties, RiDE magazine’s Simon Weir was raising money for charity and extreme testing a bike at the same time, racking up a very impressive 1173.5 miles in 19 hours onboard a KTM SM T!
RiDE’s Simon Weir said: “I was one of 20 riders doing the RE1000 charity ride – a long-distance ride visiting four Royal Engineers depots in a day.
“The ride set off from Failsworth in Manchester at 1am on Easter Saturday. The route went to Elgin in the Highlands, down to Waterbeach outside Cambridge and finished at the Royal School of Military Engineering, home to the Sappers, at Chatham in Kent. Most of the riders got round by 11pm. I did the route a little quicker, then turned round and came home to Lincolnshire.
“I covered 1173.5 miles in less than a day and the SM-T didn't miss a beat. It was comfortable, a real pleasure to ride and ideal for the job at hand.”
There will be stories about the ride in the June and July issues of RiDE (on sale next week and in mid May).
