MUSQUIN FINISHES THIRD AT UNADILLA MOTOCROSS NATIONAL
NEW BERLIN, New York - Red Bull KTM Factory rider Marvin Musquin finished 3rd overall at the tenth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Series earning 2-5 results for the afternoon.
The French rider, fresh off of an overall win at the previous round, arrived at Unadilla Raceway with plenty of confidence. In the first moto, he successfully turned the fastest lap time in his pursuit of chasing down the lead ride of Christophe Pourcel. Marvin Musquin started the moto inside the top five and moved into 2nd position within the first five laps. He then reduced the gap to the lead rider from five seconds to less than a second when the white flag flew. On his KTM 250 SX-F Musquin took all lines possible to try and make up time on Pourcel on the final lap but came just shy of challenging for the position and finished the moto in 2nd.
In the second moto, Musquin got off the line to another 5th place start. He battled for 4th place before the halfway mark but eventually settled into 5th. He maintained his pace and finished in that spot. His 2-5 moto results earned him 3rd overall for the day.
“Overall, I am happy to be on the podium today,” stated Musquin. “I wish I could have had a better result in the second moto but I know what I need to work on so I can come back stronger at the next round.”
With two rounds remaining Musquin now sits 4th in the overall point standings.
