Australian Matthew Phillips joins the KTM Enduro Factory Racing team in 2014 after an impressive debut in the EJ (Junior) class in 2013. Phillips won nine rounds and was the stand out rider in the class. He goes into the season as the partner to the experienced KTM veteran Ivan Cervantes, who together will contest the E3 class.
Phillips, born in Tasmania and now resident in the heartland of Italian Enduro, Bergamo, had his first race in 1999 at Pegs Beach, Tasmania. He first rode a KTM in 2010.
Highlights of his career so far are winning the 2013 EJ World Championship. He was Australian E2 champion in 2012 and national E3 champion in 2011.
The combination of experience and young talent will provide the team with strong base from which to work in 2014, following on from two E3 seasons that were dominated by KTM teammate Christophe Nambotin, who in 2014 contests the E1 category.Matthew's facebook
