A radical, puristic, lightweight sports car, the KTM X-BOW is one of the most fascinating automobiles currently in existence. A carbon fibre monocoque, double wishbone suspension, pushrod suspension elements – the chassis technology is directly derived from formula racing.

Yet this mid-engine roadster can easily be road homologated, thanks in part to Audi’s state-of-the-art engine technology. Either the 240 hp or the 300 hp in the 2.0-liter, TFSI, four-cylinder engine accelerate the X-BOW to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds; and at a weight of only 790 kilograms, plus the incomparable aerodynamic down force (up to 200 kg), it achieves incredible cornering speeds (lateral acceleration of up to 2.0 G!). But in order to experience this kind of performance, one should care for the KTM X-BOW in a “species appropriate” manner and let it run wild where it was born: on the racetrack!
