KTM 2013 UK SUPPORTED OFF-ROAD TEAMS
Introducing the Motocross and Enduro teams representing KTM UK
KTM UK is once again supporting a raft of teams, riders and championships in Motocross and Enduro disciplines.
Flying the flag for the UK subsidiary in World and British Championships are the Roger Magee HM Plant team and the Steve Turner Racing (STR) team.
STR returns in MX1 with Latvia’s Mattis Karro who is joined by KTM returnee, Spain’s Jonathan Barragan, on 450 SX-Fs while in the MX2 class they are fielding Brit Adam Sterry who will compete in the British Championship and EMX250 European Championship.
HM Plant KTM UK is an all-British affair for 2013 and will compete on the all-conquering 250 SX-F. The team is headed up in the MX2 class by current British Champion, Elliott Banks-Browne, partnered by James Dunn promoted from EMX250 duties from the team in 2012. Brothers Ben and Nathan Watson will team up in the British Championship and the EMX250 Championship series and Natalie Kane is again going for glory in the Women’s World Championship, having finished runner-up in 2012.
Also on the world stage, Trevor Pope Motorcycles are supporting future star Conrad Mewse in the Junior World Championship 85cc class.
In the AMCA and British Masters series, via Loughborough-based KTM dealer Redline Motorcycles, Team Park Lane IDF KTM will field Shane Holmes and Scott Bates on the 450 SX-F along with Carl Benjamin on the 250 SX-F.
The support doesn’t stop at riders and teams as KTM UK is once again backing the Maxxis British Motocross Championship as a series sponsor and the GT Cup, where it will attend every round with technical support and supply the 85cc class winner with a brand new 125 SX to use the following season.
In Enduro, Jonny Walker has progressed to the Factory KTM Enduro team but still enjoys backing from KTM UK. The Cumbrian rider has already had a busy start to 2013, finishing runner-up at Hell’s Gate and in the British Extreme Enduro Championship. On the world stage, Jonny recently finished third in the SuperEnduro World Championship on his 300 EXC. Jonny will compete in most British Enduro Championship rounds in 2013.
Tom Sagar returns to the KTM fold in 2013 via Colwyn Bay Motorcycles, and he will contest the British Enduro Championship, British Sprint Enduro Championship, European Enduro Championship and Welsh Enduro Championship on the KTM 450 EXC.
Crescent KTM Off-Road Racing will once again run multi-British and European Enduro Champion Daryl Bolter. In 2012, Bolter finished third in the British Sprint Enduro Championship and fourth in the British Enduro Championship on his Crescent KTM 350 EXC-F. The 28-year-old from Salisbury will again challenge for those titles this year as well as contesting other Enduro and Motocross events across Europe under the Crescent KTM banner.
Joining Bolter will be 18-year-old rising star Steve Holcombe who is already making a name for himself in the Enduro world. Holcombe clinched the British Under-19 Championship last season – going unbeaten in every race – and will compete on a Crescent-prepared KTM 250 EXC-F in the Under-23 Championship this season, as well as other selected events throughout the year.
