Natalie Kane is Britain’s leading lady in motocross, and one of Ireland’s top athletes in World Championship competition. The 20-year-old racer, who is passionate about off-road racing, is already recognised as Ireland’s most successful motocross racer in a world championship with her runner-up in the women’s world series this season, and has a lot more potential to conquer her ambition of winning a world title.
Kane is the current most successful British lady motocross racer having won numerous Girls National races, the Irish and Ulster Schoolboy Championship, winning the mini Des Nations heat on the way to fourth overall for her country, and across the water in the American Women’s 85cc championship in her earlier career.
Kane, who hails from Loughbrickland in Northern Ireland, has since progressed and succeeded into the adult ranks as the Women’s British Champion on five occasions, where she has been undefeated, as well as earning an amazing top three in the World Championship on two occasions despite being just 20-years of age.
It’s been an exciting journey so far for Kane, who has built her reputation on results and last year took her best result in the World Championship series, despite a number of non finishes with machine issues and recovering from injury earlier in the season.
The last few seasons have been tough for Kane, as injury has thwarted her progress a number of times and she’s certainly had to go the extra mile to dig deep to succeed while recovering, which is no mean feat for any racer. 2012 has been a turning point for the Irish lady, as she’s shown her consistency, speed and capabilities against some of the world’s fastest women in a strong season that has set her up for taking her first World title with HM Plant KTM UK.
