Born on January 5th 1995, in Swindon. I grew up on a old Country side farm where I got my first Motorbike (Yamaha PW50) for Christmas at the age of 3. I started racing at the age of 8 (2003) with the Morden schoolboy scramble club. I took a while to get my speed up as I was a bit of a slow coach when I was younger! However in my last year on the SW 85 in 2008 I won the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup 85cc class Championship.
The following year I moved up to the Big Wheel 85cc class but being very tall for my age I decided to move on the a Suzuki 125cc only 3 months into the year.
The first time I rode a 125cc i loved it! 2010 was a steady year racing in the Red Bull rookies and the BYMX youth Championships (age 15). After having a few years developing my skills and getting tuned in with the 125 I decided to give the European 125 Championship a go in 2011. After a pretty tough year of up and down results I ended up 6th in the championship which I was pleased with but knew I could have done better.
As I was still young enough to compete in the 125 European championship again the following year (2012) I gave it another shot and had a great year. After winning a few races and getting a number of podiums I came 4th in the championship.
After a successful year riding for team HM Plant KTM UK in 2012 I grew a great relationship with everyone and was really happy with where I was at. The team then offered me the opportunity to race in the MX2 World Championship for 2013. I knew this would be very difficult to jump straight into the MX2 class but it has always been my dream to race in the World Championship.www.facebook.com/JamesDunn200
