INFORMATION CONCERNING A2 CAPABILITY

published at 18.03.2013 / created by KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG

Greater riding pleasure and more safety – KTM 390 Duke and LC4 models are A2 capable!

Several mistakable and even wrong press reports cause some confusion in the European KTM Community concerning the A2 capabilty of the following models:

  • 390 Duke
  • 690 Duke
  • 690 Duke R
  • 690 SMC R
  • 690 Enduro R

Corresponding messages create the impression that the mentioned models are too leightweighted for A2 beginners and thereby not permitted. However, this impression is not true.

The A2 driving licence stipulates a minimum power/weight ratio of 0,2kW/kg wherefore KTM approved versions for all mentioned models making them A2 capable.

By these mappings all listed models precisely reach the power/weight ratio – quite contrary to the mostly overweighted competitors.

By means of the mappings all A2 beginners can easily benefit from the dynamic advantage of the light models, by increased riding pleasure while accelerating, by riding demanding routes or – the most important – by increased safety while braking, by enhanced control of the bike or by avoiding suddenly appearing danger.

The models are not only A2 capable, they are absolutely recommendable for novice drivers as they are guaranteeing greater riding pleasure and more safety at the same time.
