MARTIN BAUER
Martin Bauer was born to ride near Vienna in December 1975. He joined the KTM Superbike Germany Team at the beginning of the 2010 season. He and Stefan Nebel rode the KTM RC8 R to ultimately win the IDM (International German Superbike Championship) Manufacturer’s title for KTM in what was a sensational result for this fledgling team. Martin’s first career race was on Hungary’s Pannoniaring Cup in 1997 when he finished in third place. Since then he has amassed an impressive list of results, especially in the IDM Superstock and Superbike competitions. His first season for KTM finished dramatically in the final two races. Martin was heading for what was a possible championship title when he had a DNF in the first race only to come back to take the victory in the second. He finally finished third in the championship (missing second place by a slim four points) with teammate Nebel behind him in fourth place. Martin’s favorite tracks are Sachsenring and Schleizer Dreieck in Germany and Brands Hatch in the UK. He will have the chance to test himself on the German circuits in the 2011 IDM Superbike Championship. His motto is: “Make the impossible your goal so that you can it possible to achieve it!
