Jordi Viladoms is an experienced Dakar competitor who rode for KTM from 2006 to 2010. The 33-year-old rally racer joins the team followed by the tragic death of KTM factory rider Kurt Caselli in November 2013.
Viladoms rode to second overall in the 2014 edition of the Dakar Rally but in 2015 his bid ended after Stage 7. He was among many other riders who suffered technical difficulties after they had to tackle the massive Bolivian salt flats after rain. Caked salt proved to be disastrous for engines and sensitive electronics across all brands of bikes.
Viladoms, who rides the KTM 450 RALLY was born in Igualada, Spain in 1980 and has been competing since he was eight years old.
