TADDY BLAZUSIAK TAKES FOURTH CONSECUTIVE ENDUROCROSS WIN

published at 18.09.2011

Red Bull KTM factory rider Taddy Blazusiak of Poland on Saturday made it four in a row at the fourth round of the GEICO Endurocross Series in Ontario, CA. Continuing his charge towards yet another title in this exciting new class of indoor Enduro competition.

What started with a gold medal in this year’s inaugural Endurocross event at the X-Games has now evolved into a clean score card for all events held so far this season with Taddy right on track for yet another title. This and his five consecutive wins in the notorious Red Bull Hare Scramble at the Erzberg Rodeo have marked Taddy as the rider to beat in this type of extreme Enduro competition.

Right from qualifying, Taddy laid down the challenge, putting in the fastest hot lap in on his KTM 350 SX-F by two seconds. FMF/KTM rider, Mike Brown, and fellow KTM support rider Colton Haaker were second and third fastest qualifiers setting the stage of a great faceoff in the heats and main event.

Taddy led from start to finish in the opening heat, Mike Brown won heat two and heat three went to rival Geoff Aaron with Haaker close behind. But it seemed like Taddy was just saving himself for the main and it was him who stayed on the gas and took the lead for KTM in the first corner. Underlining that even for the best exponents of the sport, Endurocross is never straightforward, Taddy then made a bobble and allowed Haaker in second place to close in. Haaker then tailed Blazusiak for about a lap and a half before Taddy got a second wind and broke free. He went on to dominate the rest of the race, finishing 10 seconds ahead of the competition. Haaker came in second for his best finish of the season and Brown went on to finish eighth.

Taddy Blazusiak: “I am really excited to get another win tonight but it wasn’t easy. I got held up in the matrix a couple times and that allowed Haaker to catch me for about a lap and a half. But then I was able to regroup and charge out front. Once I realized I had about a 10 second lead at the end of the race, I was able to relax and cruise to the finish. I’m really happy with this season so far and am really looking forward to the next event.”

The next round will be in Denver, Colorado on October 1, 2011
