PODIUMS AND OVERALL 2ND FOR CRISTOBAL GUERRERO AT E2 FINAL ROUND
published at 02.10.2011
Cristobal Guerrero continued his good 2011 performance in the E2 class on Saturday and Sunday in Mendes France when the World Enduro Championships wound up for the 2011 season. Guerrero scored a 3-2 result for the weekend to finish second overall.
Saturday proved to be more than challenging for the Spanish rider and his eventual advancement to third on the podium was a strong indication of his fighting spirit. He was the fastest E2 rider on the track during the morning before scrambling back from three crashes in the afternoon to mount the podium. His charge back to second in the final round on Sunday again underlined his class as a rider.
Responsibility for flying the KTM flag in the E2 class fell firmly on the shoulders of the Spanish rider after E2 teammate Johnny Aubert suffered debilitating injuries in a crash at the GP of Greece and had to sit out the rest of the season. Aubert, who has been at the Red Bull Training Center in Austria has now been declared completely fit and will be ready to race in 2012.
KTM also offers congratulations to the 2011 champion Antoine Meo of France.
