KTM’S KURT CASELLI FINISHES 7-5 IN THE E3 ROUND IN ANDORRA
published at 04.09.2011
American offroad specialist Kurt Caselli, who has been contesting some of the Class E3 Enduro World Championship rounds in Europe, was back on the continent this weekend to ride with the KTM Factory Racing Team at the penultimate round in Saint Julia, Andorra.
On Saturday the American rider lost 30 seconds following a crash and never managed to regain the momentum on a day where organizers were forced to abandon the extreme test after it was declared un-rideable after heavy overnight rain in the small principality in the eastern Pyrenees. On Sunday Caselli was back on the track and looking more confident, finishing up the order by two places to pick up some more points. Andorra was his last ride with the team in 2011 as he now returns to resume competing in the US Offroad competition.
Kurt, who spearheaded the US IDSE Team in Finland recently has been filling in in the E3 class during the enforced absence of David Knight who is recuperating after double hip surgery. While David is already back on the bike and had one run in the British nationals recently, he is still rehabilitating and wants to return to world championship competition fully fit for the final round in France.
While riders were able to tackle the extreme test on Sunday organizers decided to reduce the planned three laps to two on account of the weather situation.
