SX PARIS BERCY: GOOD WEEKEND FOR SHORT & TIXIER
10.11.2013 / Creado por Marcia Hill
Andrew Short, former US Red Bull KTM factory rider and now back on KTM with BTO Sports KTM wrapped up his weekend at Supercross Paris Bercy with a 5-3-3 result to finish overall third in the King of Bercy classification behind Americans Justin Barcia and Trey Canard. Red Bull KTM factory rider Jordi Tixier came away with a 6-11-10 result for overall tenth in the very competitive field.
For Jordi Tixier, present at Paris Bercy with Red Bull KTM Factory Team boss Stefan Everts it was a chance to compete on the KTM 350 SX-F and to test himself out against some of the sport’s big names from the USA. On Friday he finished a creditable sixth overall after a good start in the finale that saw him up front at the beginning of the 15-lap race. He did drop back in the last five laps, when he started to tire. Tixier had been ill earlier in the week.
Saturday threw up more challenges for the young French rider. He was fifth in his heat race and had to contest the LCQ but won this to earn a second row start in the main event. He started strongly but his chances of a top finish disappeared after a spectacular crash resulted in him finishing eleventh on the second nights of competition.
Tixier had a good third place qualification in his heat on Sunday to comfortably escape the LCQ to go on and finish tenth in the final for overall tenth. Stefan Everts said it had been a solid weekend for his rider and he said Tixier showed good SX technique in a very competitive field.
