DIGITAL WORLD PREMIERE FOR KTM X-BOW R IN “GRAN TURISMO 6®”!
“It’s unbelievable that it’s been 15 years since the launch of Gran Turismo®” says Kazunori Yamauchi, inventor and producer of the game and also director of Polyphony Digital Inc., speaking on the occasion of the announcement of the sixth edition of this classic game*. “Much has changed since it was first introduced and the new version of Gran Turismo 6® represents a further evolution of my dream. We’ve introduced many new ideas and developments, but naturally there are also some spectacular new vehicles that celebrate their premiere.”
One of these is the KTM X-BOW R, the most exciting, innovative and most spectacular lightweight sports car of the 21st century. Since 2008, this car has made history because of its unusual design and high-tech solutions drawn straight from motorsport, for example the car’s carbon monocoque. The KTM X-BOW, powered by an Audi 2.0 TFSI engine, is impressive both in reality and in future also in the virtual world with its power-to-weight ratio of just 2.6 kg per hp and its sensational performance. It can go from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 sec. and thanks to the car’s ingenious aerodynamics, lateral accelerations up to 2 g are possible because of the massive grip that is generated – in fact, more than any other street-legal supercar!
It will soon be possible to experience the unique driving experience of the KTM X-BOW R sitting behind the virtual steering wheel following the launch of Gran Turismo 6®, due for release during 2013. For Hubert Trunkenpolz, CSO KTM Sportmotorcycle AG, the inclusion of the KTM X-BOW R in Gran Turismo® is another important milestone in the history of the super sports car from the House of KTM. “We are delighted to now be part of the success story of Gran Turismo®. Just as this legendary game thrills millions of people all over the world, the revolutionary KTM X-BOW has millions of fans and an exclusive customer base around the globe. Our fan community will extend even further when it is possible very soon to experience the unique driving dynamic of the KTM X-BOW in the virtual world. We’re very happy to continue our cooperation with Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and we wish gamers a lot of fun with the KTM X-BOW R!“
