Darryl Curtis of South Africa, a two time winner of the Roof of Africa and a multiple Enduro and Off-road national champion finished 22nd in the 2012 edition and was second in the amateur class. He rides a KTM 450 Rally Replica in 2013 as part of the KTM Factory B team and is aiming for a top 15 finish.

Riaan van Niekerk will ride in the KTM Factory B Team is like his teammate Darryl Curtis a multiple national champion in the South African offroad scene. He says competing in the Dakar for the first time in 2013 is ‘a lifelong dream’ and admits it will be a learning experience, especially the navigation. Riaan gained some experience riding against big names like Cyril Despres and Marc Coma in the 2012 Morocco Rally.

Jakub (Kuba) Przgonski of Poland will ride for the first time in the KTM Factory B Team for the 2013 Dakar. It will be his fourth appearance after finishing eleventh in 2009, eighth in 2010 and had to withdraw in 2012 with technical difficulties. He has enjoyed a stellar season this year finishing third in the 2012 World Cross Country Championship, was second in the Pharaons Rally and second to Cyril Despres in the Desafio Littoral in Argentina.
