ANAHEIM, California – Red Bull KTM Factory rider Dean Ferris finished 11th overall at the fifth round of the Monster Energy Supercross Series at Angel Stadium. Rockstar Energy KTM rider Jason Anderson finished fifth and continues to lead the championship.
Rockstar Energy KTM rider Jason Anderson picked up another 16 points for fifth place in Round 5 of the West Coast 250s Series to hang onto his lead in the championship. Anderson now has Cole Seely in second but with equal points.
Red Bull KTM Factory team rookie Dean Ferris was placed in the first 250SX heat at the start of the night show where he pulled a decent jump from the gate and came around the first corner inside the top five. He was able to hang on to 5th place for the six lap heat to take a transfer spot to the main event.
In the main event, Ferris got a good jump off the line on his KTM 250 SX-F but was pushed way back in the first corner and came out 12th as the riders crossed the finish line. Ferris moved as high up as 9th place throughout the race but made a couple mistakes that caused him to drop back at the end. When the checkered flag flew he crossed the line in 11th place, just one spot shy of a top ten result.
