Red Bull KTM factory rider Jordi Tixier had his first night out on the KTM 350 SX-F at the Genova SX Superbowl and finished a solid overall fifth competing against some of the top US riders.
It was a good warm-up for the KTM factory rider and MX2 Vice World Champion just one week before riding in front of his home crowd at the Paris-Bercy Supercross.
Jordi Tixier qualified fifth in the SX1 class to advance to the main event and was then fourth in the Super Pole. On his KTM 350 SX-F he finished seventh in his first heat after a crash at the beginning of the race and then again just before the flag drop. He fared better in the second heat to pick up a sixth place for a total of 19 points and overall fifth for the night on a track that was at times slippery and stony in some of the corners.
Jordi Tixier: “It was a fun night and good training for next weekend in Paris-Bercy. I’m looking forward to riding in front of my home fans next weekend.”
Another highlight for the Italian fans was a close up and personal encounter with their hero, seven-times World Champion, Red Bull KTM’s Tony Cairoli, who was a big attraction at the well-visited KTM stand.
