| Laine wins FIM Cross Country World Championship! |
| Dubai based Frenchman, Lionel Laine, riding a KTM 525 XC ATV claimed the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship in the Quad category in style by winning the Shmarock Morocco Rally to achieve a total of 117 points out of the maximum 125 points. With KTM only having introduced the ATV product line less than 2 years ago, this also marks the very first world championship title for KTM in the Quad category.

Lionel's performance during the season has been undeniable. He topped the podium at the Sardegna Rally, Rally of Tunisia and the Morocco Rally where he finished well ahead of his rivals, earning maximum points to clinch the title. His rally prepared KTM 525 XC ATV ran strong and reliably and kept him running at a pace that others could not match.
Right from the start of the championship, Lionel had this vision of winning this gruelling test of man and machine."It was a very difficult road to victory. But this was always a dream of mine to be a world champion and thanks to the support and help from KTM it is now a reality," said Laine.
