| Mason Phillips finishes in top 3 at Ste-Julie CMRC Quebec Provincial! |

CMRC Quebec MX Provincial: Ste-Julie, QC, May 31st, 2009
Last weekend was the CMRC Quebec provincial race in Ste-Julie. Royal Distributing Thor KTM factory rider Mason Phillips entered the Pro 450cc class. Mason had a really good day of racing. He crossed the finish line in 2nd position in moto 1 with his KTM 450 SX-F. In moto 2, Phillips was pumped and Ready to Race and it paid off as he pulled the Holeshot. He kept the lead for almost one lap and then took the 2nd place for the rest of the race. On the last lap he had catch up and tried to pass Homans in 1st position but almost crashed doing it. He finally settled for the 3rd position. Phillips was really happy with his results and can’t wait to begin the Nationals next weekend in Kamloops. Another KTM rider who scored really good results Sunday is Francis Charette who took the 2nd position in the Intermediate 450cc class.
James Bank takes the 1st position at Port Perry race!
CMRC Ontario Provincial Championship: 2nd round, Port Perry, ON, May 30th & 31st, 2009.
Royal Distributing Thor KTM ATV rider James Bank grabbed the Holeshot in moto 1 and checked out from the pack. James was able to put a half lap lead to take first place on his KTM 450 SX ATV. In moto 2, it was Gee and Bank side by side down the Holeshot straight away after a chicane to found Gee then Bank in the lead. Bank was able to keep the lead the first half of the moto but after the halfway flags Greg Gee put a pass on Bank. Bank with a 30 second lead on third cruised to take the second position to scored 1st overall for the day.
6 KTM in the top 10 in FMSQ race!
FMSQ Series: Round 2, Beauce, QC, May 31st, 2009
Last weekend was the 2nd round of the FMSQ Series in Beauce and the KTM riders scored amazing results it lots of classes. The expert class race was a very close one between the top 10 riders. Michel Metcalfe from KTM dealer Pièces d’Autos Duroy took the second place on the podium with his KTM 250 XC. Not far behind him Philippe Chainé crossed the finish line in 4th position on his KTM 250 XC-F prepared by KTM dealer Ja-Per-Formance. KTM riders, Scott Bowes (250 XC-F), Patrick Beaulé (KTM 250 XC) and Francis Ouimette (KTM 250 XC-F) finished respectively in 6th, 7th and 8th position with only a 9 second gap between the 3 of them. In the Ladies class KTM rider Vanessa Marcoux (KTM 200 XC-W) ended up on the top spot of the podium and Any Lavoie (KTM 150 SX) took the 4th position.
Justin Brayton earned an 8th place overall for the day!
US Motocross Lites Series: 2nd round, Rancho Cordova, CA, May 30th, 2009
The first moto started well for Justin Brayton when he came around the first turn in 4th position. Royal Distributing Thor KTM Canada factory rider, Jeff Northrop pulled an impressive start when he rounded the first turn in 2nd place only to take the lead a moment later. Northrop held the lead for about half of a lap. As the moto continued Northrop remained in the top five until the fifth lap when Brayton passed him to take over 6th. Brayton finished in 8th place and Northrop took the 16th place. In moto 2, Northrop crashed on the first lap and started from dead last. Brayton moved into 11th on lap two and finished the race in 10th position. Northrop came from dead last to finish 26th.
US Motocross Series: 2nd round, Rancho Cordova, CA, May 30th, 2009
In the 250 class, Tommy Searle had a decent 5th place and the rest of his fellow KTM riders were in the middle of the pack. Unfortunately, Searle made a mistake while trying to make a pass and he crashed. He battled to move up but encountered a mechanical problem and had to pull off the track. Royal Distributing Thor KTM Canada, Eric Nye finished the moto in 16th. The second moto was better for all KTM riders. Max Anstie started 8th with Searle close behind in 10th. Nye and Wil Hahn were mid-pack. Searle held on for 9th overall while Anstie finished 12th. Hahn was one spot back from Anstie in 13th and Nye finished 16th. |
