KTM Weekly Race Report May 27th, 2009

Eric Nye and Mason Phillips on the top of the podium at Quebec arenacross!



Arenacross: Québec, May 23rd, 2009
Saturday night was the annual Quebec Arenacross. Royal Distributing Thor KTM factory riders Eric Nye and Mason Phillips had a very good night of racing. They both won their semi race qualifier on their KTM 250 SX-F. When the gate drop, Nye took the lead and kept it until the checker flag. His teammate, Phillips was in third place. He rode hard and was able to pass Marco Dubé to take the 2nd position. He held to that position and finished on the second spot of the podium.

 


 


Mcglynn, O’Farrell and Fitz-Gerald score top 4 results at Sand Del Lee, ON!


 
 
CMRC MX Provincial: Sand Del Lee, ON, May 24th, 2009
 
Last weekend, KTM riders had some great racing results at Sand Del Lee. In the MX1 class, KTM dealer Orange Motorsport rider Liam O’Farrell was able to finish in the top 3 overall with 4-5 results on his KTM 450 SX-F. In the MX2 class his teammate from Orange Motorsport, Kerim Fitz-Gerald rode 2 consistent motos and finished in 2nd position with is KTM 250 SX-F. For his first race as a KTM Royal Distributing factory rider, Kyle Mcglynn rode really well and ended up with a very good 4th place overall on his KTM 250 SX-F.  O’Farrell and Fitz-Gerald also rode in the Youth class and finished respectively in 1st and 3rd position. It’s also worth mentioning the impressive results by the KTM riders in the Schoolboy category. Richard Grey took the 1st position with his KTM 150 SX prepared by Orange Motorsport followed by KTM dealer Duroy Pièces d’Autos rider, Michael Dasilva also on KTM 150 SX. KTM rider Drew Roberts took the 3rd spot on the podium.



KTM rider Trae Franklin finishes 1st at Green River, BC




CMRC MX Provincial: Green River, BC, May 24th, 2009
 
KTM dealer Trailblaz’n Power rider, Trae Franklin had a really good weekend in Green River for the CMRC MX Provincial. He was racing in the GP Junior class. He dominated the 2 motos as he crossed the finish line in 1st place in both with his KTM 250 SX-F.
 
 
 

Good results for ATV riders at St-Ferdinand race, QC!




CMRC Quebec : St-Ferdinand, QC, May 24th, 2009
 
Last weekend was the CMRC race in St-Ferdinand, QC and KTM ATV riders scored some good results. Martin Lamontagne finished in 2nd place overall in the ATV Intermediate class. In the ATV amateur class, KTM rider Billy Dubois took the second position overall with his 1-2 results. 
 
 

James Bank finishes 1st Saturday at Grand Bend race!




CMRC ATV Series: 1st round, Grand Bend, ON, May 23rd & 24th, 2009.
 
Last weekend was the 1st round of the CMRC ATV Series at Grand Bend MX race track in Ontario. Royal Distributing Thor KTM team was very happy to see the great results from James Bank and Darcy Quinlan on the new KTM ATV 450 SX. Bank rode really well on Saturday and took the overall with his 2-1 results. Quinlan for his part took the 2nd position overall with his amazing results, 1-2. Sunday, it was Quinlan’s turn to take the overall and bank got on the 3rd step of the podium. 
 
 
 

Tommy Searle earned a top five finish!


 
 
US Motocross Lites Series: 1st round, San Bernardino, May 23rd, 2009
 
Tommy Searle came around the first turn in 3rd and remained up front. His teammate Wil Hahn also had a great start rounding the first turn in 5th and the third member of the team, Martin Davalos, started mid-pack around 15th place. Searle spent the majority of the race in 5th position but moved up to 4th right before the checkers. In the second moto Davalos got the holeshot on his KTM 250 SX-F machine followed closely by Searle. On the final lap after swapping positions twice, Searle won the battle taking 4th place by half a wheel length.

 


 

US Motocross Series: 1st round, San Bernardino, May 23rd, 2009
 
The gate dropped for the first moto and the crowd cheered loud for the #3 bike of Mike Brown who rounded the first turn in 3rd position. His teammate Justin Brayton wasn't as fortunate as Brown on the start and came around the first turn in 20th. Brown rode a solid moto and finished 8th. In the second moto, Brown was up front again in 7th position while Brayton was a few spots back in 14th. Brown held his pace and finished an impressive 7th overall while Brayton finished a solid 9th place.
