2 KTM in the top 5 in Granby FMSQ 1st race!

FMSQ Series: Round 1, Granby, QC, May 10th, 2009

Last weekend was the first round of the Provincial Enduro-Cross Series in Granby. The technical circuit was more difficult due to the rainy weekend and the mud fest over the rocks in the tight trail! Even with those conditions, the riders rode really hard to finish in the top positions. The young KTM rider Philippe Chainé had a really good weekend with a 2nd place at Saturday night Extreme-Cross and a 3rd place at Sunday Enduro-Cross with the help of his KTM 250 XC-F. KTM rider Patrick Beaulé also performed really well, he was in the top 5 after the first lap and was able to take the 4th position after an hour. He kept this position until the end with his KTM 250 XC.  After a last place start, Francis Ouimette was able to pass other riders and to take the 6th place on his KTM 250 XC-F-W.

Another Orange Motorsport rider who did pretty well was, Richard Grey. He took the 2nd overall position in the Schoolboy class and the 1st place in the MX2 Junior class. In this class, he was followed by other KTM riders Nathan Bles, Drew Robert and Alex Nunn respectively in 2nd, 3rd and 5th position.

Shock Doctor/KTM Factory WORCS racer Mike Brown regained the championship points lead after earning 3rd overall at the 5th round of the series. With three laps to go, Brown was still sitting in 3rd place. He was close to the top two until he made two mistakes that both resulted in a crash on the second to last lap.
